Check out this new track I produced for my friend Marcel P. Black out of Baton Rouge. This track is entitled “I’m Mad” and is dedicated to the memory of Trayvon Martin. It addresses the tragedy itself while framing it in the grander scale of racial equality in this country. Normally I don’t really do too many political songs because most people are full of shit & I don’t personally feel too qualified to speak on social injustice myself. I did this track with Marcel because he is a rare individual who actually walks the walk AND talks the talk. For those unfamiliar with Marcel’s work, he is a social worker in the Baton Rouge community in addition to being a top notch MC. This song will be featured on the EP “Civil Disobedience” coming out this Summer, produced entirely by me.
This week for SXSW, I’m handing out physicals of #AllBastardEverything , a production sampler of work I’ve done. All tracks were produced, mixed, and mastered by me & I did the artwork for the CD as well. This is a SXSW Exclusive release, meaning I won’t be posting it online anytime soon. Anyway, if you got a copy, you may have noticed that there is no track listing for the CD. Well here it is in all it’s glory. I hope you enjoyed the CD & if you did, please share it with someone else who you think might like it. If you are interested in working with me/hiring me, please email me at thatpurplebastard@yahoo.com , hit me on Twitter @PurpleBastard , or give me a call at 713-702-1312. Thanks!

Check out the Ebonics (H Town Platinum Remix), the first single off of “6 Demon Bag”: the remix EP of D-Risha’s “Big Trouble In Houston Texas”. We-Cu Radio did a great job of breaking down all the samples I used here. The track also spawned an interview with Village Voice affiliate Houston Press, you can check that out here.
